What the planets are in astrology
“The planets are the main characters of the natal chart.”
In astrology, "planets" are the ten bodies studied in the birth chart: the Sun and Moon (the luminaries) and the planets from Mercury to Pluto. Each one symbolizes a psychological function or an area of human experience.
The sign a planet is in shows how that energy expresses itself, the house shows the area of life where it acts, and the aspects show how it relates to the other planets.
